Just the other day, my family put up our Christmas tree. Every year, this ornament goes up towards the top of the tree, right below the angel. Ambrose, the boy in the picture, was my best friend in preschool. He was my first “boyfriend”. When I was 4, I thought we’d get married and grow old together. It’s all that I wanted. During our second year of preschool, Ambrose had a seizure and drowned in his hot tub. He was only 4 years old. Even though it’s been 14 years, I still miss him very much. Whenever I put up this ornament, it makes me think about what would have happened if he was still alive. It’s likely that we probably wouldn’t even be friends anymore, but what if that wasn’t the case? What if we would have gotten married, had a family, and lived happily ever after? I guess I’ll never know.

I thought this was so sad. I’m deeply sorry.
